Thank you for your interest in these thoughts from Jehoshaphat. There was some mistake in sending out Jehoshaphat numbers 11, 12 and 13 and some of you never received them. Please enjoy them today.
Journey With Jehoshaphat #11 2 Chronicles 20:20 The day has dawned for Jehoshaphat and his people to head to the battle field. The place is the Desert of Tekoa, the topography is hilly victory is promised. As we navigate through this pandemic remember we have the same God as Jehoshaphat and Jehoshaphat forged on with faith as his armour. Forging Forward in Faith Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God . . . Forging Forward in Strength . . . Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; . . Forging Forward to Victory . . . and you will be successful. As we journey through these very different, difficult and at times dark days, remember we forge forward with a great God. For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory. Deuteronomy 20:4 Journey With Jehoshaphat #12 2 Chronicles 20:21 A number of our people have expressed, in these days of social distancing and isolation, they find themselves singing or meditating on their favourite hymns continually. As Jehoshaphat and his people head towards the Desert of Tekoa to wage war with Ammonites, Moabites and the people Mount Seir, they do so with praise. People of Praise After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him . . . Position of Praise they went out at the head of the army, . . . Prominence of Praise . . . Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever. Let’s praise our way through this pandemic, Bill Gaither penned it well; Let's just praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let's just lift our hearts to heaven and praise the Lord. Journey With Jehoshaphat #13 2 Chronicles 20:22 In today’s verse Jehoshaphat and his people inexplicably witnessed their prayers answered, God’s promises fabulously fulfilled and the enemy extraordinarily overthrown. At the beginning of this pandemic I heard a scientist on the radio say, “we will get through this.” Some of the greatest words in the Bible are, “and it came to pass.” The People’s Armour As they began to sing and praise, . . . The People’s Advocate . . . the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, . . . The People’s Accomplishments and they were defeated. Let us encourage ourselves in Jehoshaphat’s victory, his God is our God. Malachi 3:6 reads; I the Lord do not change.
