2 Chronicles 20:4-7
Jehoshaphat now has to prepare his people for war. The enemy is very close, only 76km by road today, (north along the shores of the Dead Sea and then west into Jerusalem,) or approximately 50km as the crow flies. This may seem far away, but is it really? Much the same as Covid-19, it was a world away a few weeks ago and now we are in the midst of a nationwide shutdown. What can we learn from Jehoshaphat and his people?

A Timely Reminder of God’s Help in History verse 7
Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land
before your people Israel and give it forever to the
descendants of Abraham?
Jehoshaphat may have been afraid because the enemy was so close, but he took his fear to the right place . . . to God;
Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer
Don’t fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine. Isaiah 43:1
