Journey With Jehoshaphat #4

2 Chronicles 20:8,9 In verses 6-12 Jehoshaphat is praying with his people. This is a rich and timely prayer as the possibility of war draws ever closer. In verse 8 and 9 lets look at three acknowledgements reminding us, that regardless of what is happening in our lives, we have a great God who is always there to listen to us. The Acknowledgement of God’s Presence They had built a sanctuary where the presence of God would be. They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your Name. Verse 8 The Acknowledgement God Will Rescue If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you . . . in our distress, verse 9 The Acknowledgement God Will Listen . . . and you will hear us and save us. Verse 9 During these uncertain, fearful and at times overwhelming days, let us remember Jehoshaphat’s God is our God. The Lord said, many years before this, in Exodus 33:14; “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Let us rest in Him.
